Mixed fibers complicate the separation process necessary for reuse and recycling. Separating out textiles meant for recycling can help more textiles reach their next highest use.

We partner directly with innovators who transform hard-to-recycle materials into new products—so you can see exactly where your items go and what they become.
Vespene Recycling is a Las Vegas, Nevada–based textile recycling company that specializes in processing post-consumer mixed textiles. Vespene converts worn-out clothing and other non-reusable textiles into recycled fiber that is used to manufacture products like insulation and other industrial materials.
Recyclable textiles collected from Ridwell members are sent to Vespene, where they are sorted and processed into fiber for reuse in new products, helping keep more textiles out of landfills and giving them a productive next life.

Phoenix Fibers is a Chandler, Arizona based, closed-loop textile recycling company operating since 2011. Each month Phoenix Fibers converts over 975 tons of denim and other clothing into “shoddy fiber,” which is then manufactured into many different products, including insulation used in cars, homes, appliances and even mattresses. Nothing goes to waste! Recyclable threads provided by Ridwell members are sent to Phoenix Fibers to be made into shoddy fiber or fiber filler.
