Please ensure your items do not have any mold or mildew. They can be any size or color, and can have mild stains. When possible, check the care tag for down composition - our partner can only take items that are less than 50% feather fill.

Down material.
From cozy blankets to warm jackets, down helps keep us toasty during the cooler months. However, many thrift stores and textile recyclers are unable to process items with down filling. We're working with a partner who can clean and recycle down from your old items, creating down material that can be reused!
We're excited to be offering this new category! This is a pilot category, so we can't guarantee that we will be able to offer it again.

As the backbone of recommerce™ since 2009, Tersus Solutions is the leading textile circularity operator and recycler of down products in the US. With their patented waterless, closed-loop cleaning system and proprietary recycling services, they recycle down based products and produce a superior raw down material that can be reintroduced into the market. Material provided by Ridwell members will be cleaned in their patented waterless process and reintroduced into the market. Outer casings will be upcycled or downcycled where possible.
